The company was named for its address - 100 Church Rd, Tiptree. </font> <p align="left"><font face="Verdana" size="-1" color="#000080">In 1983 Ken and Doris took over the company followed in later years by their sons Steve and Gavin and daughter Claire. </font> <p align="left"><font face="Verdana" size="-1" color="#000080">A second branch was opened in 1988 in Basildon, Essex. Followed by another in 1997 in Harlow. </font> <p align="left"><font face="Verdana" size="-1" color="#000080">In 1993 the company was asked to supply bespoke furniture to some of its clients. This lead to Century developing its own ranges of furniture.
